A friendly musical community in Portsmouth

Portsmouth Piano Circle brings adult pianists and other musicians together every four to six weeks to perform for one another, listen and enjoy music in a relaxed, supportive setting.

About the circle

A place to play, listen and share music

Portsmouth Piano Circle is a friendly group of adult musicians who meet regularly to perform for one another and enjoy live music in an informal setting.

Most of us are pianists, but singers, instrumentalists and chamber musicians are warmly welcomed. Our meetings bring together people with a wide range of experience—from confident performers to those playing in front of others for the first time.

The focus is not on competition or perfection. It is about sharing music, building confidence, meeting other local musicians and enjoying a varied programme together.

How it works

What happens at a meeting?

Each meeting offers an encouraging space to perform, listen or simply meet other local musicians.

Perform

Volunteer to play a solo, accompany someone else, sing or take part in chamber music. There is no obligation to perform at every meeting.

Listen

Audience members are always welcome. Programmes vary widely and include music from different eras, styles and combinations of performers.

Connect

Meet musicians from across Portsmouth, find collaborators and enjoy relaxed conversation around a shared love of live music.
